Mooji - Double Agent EP - Kramm Records

Mooji showcases his first release the Double Agent EP on Kramm Records early in Novenber.
With 3 originals and 2 remixes we have a delightful selection of unique jazz / blues / down tempo & ethnic inspired side notes. Why side notes i hear you ask .. well Mooji is the untamed eclectic side of techno producer Kramnik. We are treated to a swim in the electronic mind of a classsy producer.
The title track Melody sure is a treat ! reaggea electro dub meets minimal house . Using the lyrics of Lee Scratch Perry mooji drops a bass heavy down tempo swirl. For me content that will be used for time .. As Lee Perry always offers my summery dub sets a tune or 2 .
Track 2 follows on with that almost massive Attack vibe .. A melodic tramp with heavy guitar and meaningful vocals, letting you become part of the intensification that the track delivers. For the final original we a track called "So Good" starting with wonky funk laid end samples you feel like the magic carpet is just about to leave. Ina Jack Kerrowac way the male vocal tempts you deeper and deeper in to the melting pot of electro blues..
Spicing things up for the floor we have 2 remixes with teh first coming from Pier Boston, who may i add drops my fav for the ep a chunky twisted ethno stomp that sits happly somewhere betewwn house and glitch.. Will easily find its way in to my wordly all bpm sets of nu-disco session that have a Balkan buzz to them. Rounding out the EP Trama adds magic top his version of So Good. Taking this to the minimal techno crowd we have a smoothly layerd version with a sick bassline . Not your womp or hollow bap but more of a zub zub .. Made my ears get dialed in .. Would see the likes of Fat Boy Slim championing this tune ..
As a pre cursor to the early 2016 album from Mooji we are getting the flow that this will be a live project to keep our eyes on as it soars to success.. Top Beats !

WIth the first sampler they decided to run a remix comp ....  I thought id show you all the finalist

Some words from Soulsupplement
"Las Vegas based independent house label Soulsupplement Records was founded in 2006 by Bruno Browning and Curtis Bledsoe with the goal of creating a Las Vegas sound. In May 2006 Soulsupplement released their first 12" titled "Lessons" and quickly followed up in 2007 with their second 12" titled "Light". Sadly 2007 marked the end of vinyl releases from Soulsupplement, however the change in format made it possible for a more consistent release schedule as well as bonus remixes."
" Over the next couple of months we will no longer have an account so just keep up with us by way of Twitter or FB. Thanks - Bruno Browning. *"

Unfortunately due to the SC bubble we are seeing labels flee the situation thick and fast so. :-(

Ray Seiler Feat. Chris Drew - Modes - Nylon Trax NT052

Excellent way to offer an uplifting vibe to my morning. Modes - A sublime smooth mellow deep house jaunt in its original form with a sweet gentle piano leading the way. Flipped and stripped as it's provided in a dub form . Rounding the ep out label head honcho James Nylon tweaks the undertone of the tune taking it off in an Afro tech direction. With just enough tribal vibes James mix elevates the tune in to a lovely morning beat for any dancefloor or festival.
Expect to hear this featured over in the weekly radio session that broadcast through the world touching down in USA - UK - Ireland - New Zealand.

Some words from Nylon Trax on the release
"Ray Seiler’s preeminent Nylon Trax release, “Modes” featuring Chris Drew frames the depth and talent of this emerging artist.
Ray an old school club kid has created a track that is both deep and trippy but still having theory involved in the chaos. The modal chord progressions assist in keeping “Modes” securely grounded thus arriving at the track title “Modes”"
