De Fantastiske To - Smile - Paper ecordings PAPDLS173

Well Well ... must be about time i put pen to paper again ... excuses the pun .. its been a long cold winter inside the DSA camp .. New Zealand is on the warm up much like me again with my reviewing ..... Labels that love me .. Thanks for staying around and keeping the music fresh and digi crate full ..
Starting things back off again we have a seminal 3 tracker from Paper Recordings Digital label, supporting all good things that come from the north we have Norway's De Fantastiske  who brings use smooth silky house that crosses between funky and deep Adding spicy elements to each of the tracks .
Track 1 Kodenavn Syden has a silky swirling set of crisp mids that tie nicely in with a deep dubby bass line. Lush comes to mind as a single word to represent this track ...
Paper Recordings words on the track
"Kodenavn Syden kicks things off with 909 / 808 drums, a two line bass and lush chords. Coming on like a Nu Groove classic, an arp weaves its way round the soulful grooves and the result is house music that has quality running though it like a stick of Bergen rock. If they have rock."

Track 2 - Smile. Starts with more of the same dubby bassline supporting the old school vibe of New York . Including a sick vocal that draws people in deeeper & deeper to the jazzy riffs building in to an awesome set starter.
"Smile is percussion heavy with jazzy Rhodes and a deep American voice extolling the virtues of positivity. Summoning the spirit of Marshall Jefferson’s Open Your Eyes there’s a preset sax playing the top line and it’s the sound of a lost classic from back in the day."

Track 3 - Dragsug. Kicking off with low slung kinky slap bass line this tunes turns my ears on ! synth lines intertwining with crisp punchy mids. Nice classic keyboard stabbs elevate the outlook. For me this is the 1 .. Killer groove !
"Dragsug slows things down but finds a killer groove with a live bass and hypnotic feel that builds before synth keys give it the hook Layers of strings are then added as the track finds its way to dance floor heaven."

As ever this make for another essential listen and will be getting splashed all through my summer sets hear in New Zealand ... Thanks Paper
